In 104 Weekends is the story of a mom and her son taking a leap of faith, leaving behind our life in the U.S. for a two-year adventure in Rome, Italy. Inspired by the idea of documenting our big move, this digital journal captures not just the places we explore but also the lessons we learn and the memories we create along the way.

This journey began as a way to heal after the loss of my husband and Aidan’s dad. Splitting our time between Pennsylvania and Rome gives us the chance to reset, discover new opportunities, and embrace the beauty—and unpredictability—of life. We may not know exactly what the next two years will bring, but we’re determined to cherish every moment and build something we can look back on with gratitude and joy.

Over the next 104 weekends, we’ll share our explorations of Italy and beyond—from cultural treasures and travel tips to delicious food and hidden gems as we strive to live like the locals. As Aidan works toward his dream of becoming a professional soccer player, you’ll also get a behind-the-scenes look at the dedication, triumphs, and challenges of being an athlete and supporting one as we live abroad.
